TO CUSTOMISE XP

To set up a set of Windows quick keys

First decide where to put the shortcuts containing the quick keys, and create a directory in that location.
E.g. to create them in the Start Menu...
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Right click > Open.
With Explorer on "System Tools", right click in the RH panel.
New > Folder > and enter a name for the directory of quick key shortcuts (E.g. "Keys") > Enter.
Keys > Right click in the RH panel > New Shortcut, and enter the name and destination of the shortcut
Place the cursor in the "Shortcut key:" box, and press Ctrl+Shift+Alt+<Required key>.

E.g. after creating a shortcut named "Mozilla Firefox" ...
Shortcut
  > Target = "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
  > Start in: = "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox"
  > Shortcut key: = CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+I
  > [OK]

To set up a quick key to a directory

Create the shortcut as above.
Then to make that shortcut open "My Documents" in explorer...
Shortcut
  > Target: = C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /e, "C:\Documents and Settings\James\My Documents"
  > Start in: = %HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%
  > Shortcut key: = CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+M
  > [OK]
